Chocolate Chip Banana Bread

Ever Since the new year started, I've been trying to cook more at home, and have been trying out new recipes. I've been cooking healthy dinners almost every night of the week and was really craving something sweet. This bread was super easy to make and I only had to dirty up one bowl. Looking back I think the main reason I've never thoroughly enjoyed cooking is because of how dirty my kitchen tends to get when I do! I borrowed this recipe from but did double the recipe to make 2 loaves. Hope you enjoy!

Ingredients :

  • 3 ripe bananas

  • 1/3 cup melted butter

  • 1/2 cup sugar

  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • pinch of salt

  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour

  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray a 8"x5" (or similar size) loaf pan with baking spray (the kind with flour in it) and set aside.

  2. In a large bowl mash the bananas until completely smooth. Stir in the melted butter until smooth.

  3. Add the sugar, egg, vanilla, baking soda, salt and flour and stir until the batter is thick and combined. Fold in the chocolate chips then pour/scoop the batter into the prepared loaf pan.

  4. Bake for 50 minute to 1 hour, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Let cool completely on a wire rack. Slice and enjoy!

Notes - I add extra chocolate chips on top, and next time plan to throw in some pecans!
